Follies To Go
When the curtain closes on our spring show, Follies To Go begins entertaining throughout our community. From April to December, this group of multi-talented seniors entertains civic organizations, business gatherings/parties, churches, nursing homes and schools in and around Anderson County.
A typical show includes singing (solos, duets, quartets, ensembles) dancing, comedy and instrumentals, depending on the availability of the performers for any given date. Music styles include gospel, show tunes, country and popular artists tunes. Every unique To Go show is determined by the needs and/or requests, and by the approximate number of performers a particular group can facilitate.
The mission of the Follies To Go family is to share their love and laughter through entertainment, and the unofficial motto could very well be “Have Show, Will Travel.” This cheery group is easy to recognize when they arrive to perform in their bright red shirts and their warm happy smiles.
There is no charge for local performances, although we graciously accept any contributions that help with equipment maintenance and travel expenses. In years when enough honorariums are donated to this group the funds have helped to defer some of the costs related to the production of our annual show in the spring.
